Alzchem announces Dormex rebate for California, Arizona growers
California and Arizona growers can receive a $3-per-gallon rebate on qualifying Dormex purchases for the 2027 growing season.
Alzchem Group is offering California and Arizona growers a $3-per-gallon rebate on Dormex plant growth regulator purchased for the 2027 growing season after challenging bloom conditions affected pistachio production in 2026.
Growers who purchase Dormex from an authorized distributor between Oct. 1, 2026, and March 15, 2027, are eligible for the rebate.
Dormex stimulates budbreak in nut trees, fruit trees and grapevines and is used when winter chill accumulation falls short. More synchronized budbreak can help align bloom and pollination and promote more uniform growth and harvest.
The company said a warm winter followed by high temperatures in early March disrupted pistachio bloom in California’s Central Valley in 2026. Irregular budbreak contributed to misaligned bloom and pollination, with some growers experiencing poor yields.
Some pistachio growers applied Dormex to Golden Hills and Randy varieties before the heat wave. Alzchem said those applications triggered budbreak and helped growers set a crop.

“The trees that were treated with Dormex early on set a better crop than those sprayed later,” said John Meyer, director of sales at Alzchem Group.
Meyer said the company recommends maximizing natural chill portions before treatment and applying Dormex 30 days before anticipated budbreak.
The rebate program runs through March 15, 2027, for qualifying purchases from authorized distributors in California and Arizona.
