California Walnut Commission secures $17.6 million in funding for global market expansion
The California Walnut Commission has received $17.6 million in funds from the USDA. Learn how the money will drive global marketing efforts.
The USDA awarded CWC $3.6 million through the 2025 Market Access Program, which supports marketing and promotional initiatives. An additional $14 million was granted through the Regional Agriculture Promotion Program (RAPP) to be used over the next five years for long-term market development and trade missions.
“We are thrilled to receive this substantial support from the USDA,” said Robert Verloop, CEO of the California Walnut Commission, in a release. “These funds will significantly enhance our ability to promote California walnuts on a global scale, ensuring that consumers around the world can enjoy the high quality and nutritional benefits of our product. We are committed to leveraging this funding to drive demand, open new markets, and support the economic growth of our industry.”
