Aug 7, 2024Chestnut growers set to gain insights on crops, pests through MSU’s Chestnut Chat Series
Michigan State University Extension is hosting its 2024 Chestnut Chat Summer Series, with the next session on Aug. 15 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The series offers seven interactive online meetings, fostering communication between producers and MSU faculty.
These informal sessions include crop and pest updates from Rob Sirrine, Ph.D. and Erin Lizotte, along with deep dives by university specialists on topics like disease management and irrigation. Michigan certified applicators can earn one pesticide credit per session attended.
Veteran growers and MSU faculty will address timely issues and provide research updates. Growers are encouraged to bring field notes to discuss what’s happening in their orchards.
Sessions are held every other Thursday from May 23 to Aug. 29, excluding July 4. Registration is free but required. Register through MSU Extension.
