Aug 7, 2024MCPC invites chestnut growers to annual Harvest Picnic
The Midwest Chestnut Producers Council (MCPC) invites members and enthusiasts to its annual Harvest Picnic on Aug. 17, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lee and Verna Peck Farm near Battle Creek.
Attendees will enjoy a tour of the Peck farm, where the hosts will share their chestnut production experiences. Michigan State University faculty will be present to discuss relevant topics and provide expertise.
The event is free for MCPC members in good standing. Nonmembers are welcome with a $50 fee, payable by cash or check at the event. Membership forms and dues can also be handled on-site for those wishing to join.
Lunch and beverages will be provided, but participants are asked to bring a dish to pass, a folding chair, and any additional preferred beverages. As the event will be held outdoors, attendees should dress appropriately for the weather.
Registration is required by Aug. 14, 11:45 p.m. Further details will be shared with registrants closer to the event date.
