On May 23, Meridian Growers released its latest update on pistachios, almonds and pecans.
Pistachios
Meridian Growers report noted that the demand for pistachios remained stable and that it has seen “more resales out of China and Europe as resellers look to make a profit.” Overall, the report noted that Meridian Growers expects a strong demand for September and October shipments and that Iran has downgraded its crop estimate.
Almonds
The Meridian Growers report noted that overall almond demand and prices have increased, after it was announced that a larger crop is anticipated. “We have sold out of our almonds for this year, but expect to start offering new crop around July,” the market update detailed.
Pecans
Overall the report indicated the pecan prices increased as the availability for inshell for kernels descreased. “We expect this trend to continue for the foreseeable future,” the report detailed.
