Aug 10, 2024Pyka celebrates first U.S. customer for autonomous crop protection aircraft
Pyka has announced Heinen Brothers Agra Services as its first U.S. customer for the Pelican Spray, an autonomous electric crop protection aircraft. Heinen Brothers, one of North America’s largest aerial application service providers, will integrate the Pelican Spray into its fleet, enhancing operations across the Midwest, South and Western U.S.
This partnership follows Pyka’s recent FAA authorization for commercial use of the Pelican Spray, making it the largest uncrewed aerial system (UAS) ever approved for commercial operations in the U.S. The addition of the Pelican Spray is expected to help Heinen Brothers manage peak demand and improve safety by reducing pilot workload.
A live demonstration of the Pelican Spray will take place later this month at Heinen Brothers’ headquarters in Seneca, Kansas.
Pyka specializes in developing autonomous electric aircraft for crop protection and cargo delivery, while Heinen Brothers provides a wide range of aerial application services throughout several states.
