Aug 14, 2024USDA leads December trade mission to Morocco, highlighting opportunities for tree nuts
The USDA is spearheading a trade mission to Casablanca, Morocco, from Dec. 2-5, 2024, led by Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs Alexis M. Taylor. The mission aims to connect U.S. agribusinesses, including tree nut growers, with opportunities in Morocco’s expanding market.
“This mission presents a pivotal opportunity for U.S. agribusinesses to tap into Morocco’s dynamic market and leverage its strategic position for wider African access,” Taylor said.
Morocco, the second-largest export market for U.S. agriculture in Africa, imported over $619 million in U.S. farm and food products last year. The country serves as a key distribution hub for the continent and offers growing potential for U.S. tree nuts and other agricultural exports.
U.S. exporters, including nut growers, can explore business prospects in Morocco’s expanding food processing sector and rising consumer demand. The trade mission will feature business-to-business meetings with potential importers from Morocco and other West African nations.
Nut growers interested in participating should apply by Aug. 28. For more information, visit usda.gov.
