June pistachio shipments reach record 90 million pounds as exports drive demand
Meridian Growers reports record June pistachio shipments based on the latest ACP data as exports remain strong and inventories continue to tighten.
Strong export demand pushed U.S. pistachio shipments to a record June performance, according to Meridian Growers’ June Pistachio Shipment Report, which analyzes the latest inventory and shipment data released July 15 by the Administrative Committee for Pistachios (ACP).
Total shipments for the 2025/2026 crop year reached 998.2 million pounds through June, including 207.7 million pounds shipped domestically and 790.5 million pounds exported. June shipments totaled 90 million pounds, up just over 20% from the same month a year ago and the strongest June shipment total on record. Export markets accounted for nearly 67 million pounds of June shipments.
Meridian Growers reported estimated marketable inventory at 323.4 million pounds as of June 30, a decline of nearly 101 million pounds from the previous month, reflecting continued movement through domestic and export channels as the crop year enters its final two shipment months.
The report said uncertainty remains surrounding the size of the 2026 crop as nut fill concludes. Grower reports continue to vary widely, with blanking ranging from near-normal levels in some orchards to as high as 90% in others, making production estimates difficult.
Harvest is currently expected to begin around Aug. 10 in both California and Arizona. The start of harvest is expected to provide a clearer picture of overall production and crop quality.
