Meridian Growers reported that total pistachio shipments for the 2025/26 crop year reached 908.1 million pounds through May, led by continued strength in export demand, according to the Administrative Committee for Pistachios (ACP) Inventory/Shipment Report released June 11.

Year-to-date shipments include 184.6 million pounds shipped domestically and 723.6 million pounds exported.

May shipments totaled 84.9 million pounds, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the same month last year. Export shipments accounted for more than 66 million pounds during the month, continuing to drive overall demand.

Meridian Growers also noted that estimated marketable inventory as of May 31 was approximately 424.2 million pounds, down nearly 88 million pounds from the previous month as inventories continued to move through domestic and export channels.

Attention is now shifting to the size of the 2026 crop as growers monitor nut fill. Industry expectations continue to point toward a smaller U.S. pistachio crop, while production in Turkey and Iran is also expected to decline. With inventories tightening entering the final three shipment months of the current crop year, available supply is expected to remain an important market factor heading into the 2026/27 marketing year.

Shipment and inventory figures are based on the Administrative Committee for Pistachios Inventory/Shipment Report released June 11, 2026, and shared by Meridian Growers in its May Pistachio Shipment Report.
