Administrative Committee for Pistachios (ACP) reported shipments reached 823.3 million pounds through April for the 2025/2026 crop year, as export demand continued to drive the market.

Year-to-date domestic shipments totaled 166 million pounds, while export shipments reached 657 million pounds. Total shipments stood at 823 million pounds through April, with 4 shipment months remaining in the crop year.

Estimated marketable inventory as of April 30 was approximately 511.6 million pounds. Under normal market conditions, that level would likely be considered adequate, though slightly tight, to carry the market through the remaining months before harvest.

Market attention is shifting to the developing 2026 crop. The Meridian Growers April Pistachio Shipment Report said the total supply could be reduced by 35% to 40% because of bloom stress and poor nut set across multiple growing regions.

Turkey and Iran are also expected to have smaller pistachio supplies than initially anticipated. Turkey has faced adverse weather events, while Iran’s pistachio industry and export channels continue to be affected by geopolitical and logistical disruptions.

The industry could move from actively marketing inventory to allocating remaining 2025 crop supplies and the 2026 crop as global buyers prepare for tighter worldwide supply.
