The Texas Pecan Board (TPB) is a state commodity board under the auspices of the Texas Department of Agriculture. The TPB, like other state commodity boards, is required to operate as a governmental agency, which means that it follows the open meetings act and open records act, and elections are certified by the state.

New board members are elected by Texas pecan growers every two years with staggered terms that expire in six years. The board meets several times per year in person or by conference call. A Texas Department of Agriculture representative meets with the board and oversees activities. The board meets face to face in a board meeting held in conjunction with the Texas Pecan Growers Association conference every year.
