Nov 18, 2024U.S. pistachio shipments lag behind last year’s pace
Domestic and international pistachio shipments are falling behind last year’s pace, according to the latest report from the Administrative Committee for Pistachios (ACP).
As of October 2024, total pistachio shipments reached approximately 162.4 million pounds, down from 181.4 million pounds during the same period in 2023, a decline of nearly 10.5%.
Domestic shipments accounted for 42.4 million pounds, showing a modest year-over-year decline of about 3%. In contrast, export shipments dropped more sharply to 119.9 million pounds, a decrease of over 12% compared to the 2023 figure of 137.3 million pounds.
The adjusted inventory as of Oct. 31, 2024, stood at 1.02 billion pounds, which suggests a potential for market corrections. The full ACP report is available online.
