Valent U.S.A. has named John Smith as its new vice president of sales, a role in which he will lead and direct the sales for Valent’s products across North America. He will also serve as Valent’s executive lead to the customer channel and support the global initiatives of Valent’s parent company, Sumitomo Chemical.
Smith’s previously worked for Winfield United, the agriculture inputs subsidiary of Land O’ Lakes, where he served as director, strategic supplier alliances and procurement. He joined Winfield United in 2020 after a 32-year career at Bayer Crop Science, where he held various domestic and international positions in sales, marketing, and commercial leadership roles.
