The California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) is set to conduct three public hearings in July to deliberate on the proposed statewide notification system for applying restricted material pesticides. These hearings are intended to provide the public with advance information about pesticide applications.
The hearings are scheduled for:
- Friday, July 12, in Stanislaus County, tentatively in Turlock
- Monday, July 15, held virtually on Zoom
- Tuesday, July 23, in Kern County, tentatively in Wasco
All hearings will take place from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Spanish interpretation will be available at each session.
DPR seeks public participation and feedback on the proposed regulation.
“Our goal is to protect human health and the environment by ensuring transparency and safety in pesticide use,” a DPR email on the event stated.
