The International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) has added Sarah Neagu-Reed to its government relations division.

Neagu-Reed will be joining IFPA’s public policy team as director of production & environmental policy.

Sarah Neagu-Reed

Neagu-Reed is scheduled to lead policy issues related to production practices and the environment, including organics, floral, indoor and contained environment agriculture (CEA).

She comes to IFPA from AmericanHort where she was director of advocacy and government affairs. There, she handled a policy portfolio that included pest and diseases, immigration reform, crop protection, CEA, and Farm Bill programs, according to a news release.

Neagu-Reed also advocated for grower interests working for the California Farm Bureau, as well as in public service at the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she was a senior legislative analyst at USDA for organic and biotech programs.

A California native and first-generation Romanian American, Neagu-Reed is a graduate of the University of San Francisco. Neagu-Reed is scheduled to begin her duties at IFPA on July 10.

The IFPA is the largest and most diverse international association serving the entire fresh produce and floral supply chain and the only to seamlessly integrate world-facing advocacy and industry-facing support, according to the release.
