On Farm Readiness Reviews still available for certain size farms
Farms considered small or very small can receive an On Farm Readiness Review and help with their product safety rule documents.
The OFRR took place at a pistachio orchard where the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) assessed the grower’s readiness for the Produce Safety Rule. The inspectors explained in great detail what they will be looking for in terms of documentation and practices during a routine inspection. During and after the OFRR, the CDFA inspector provides recommendations to the grower.
OFRR’s are being offered to farms that are considered small (less than $500,000 in average annual sales and more than $250,000) or very small (less than $250,000 in average annual sales and more than $25,000).
