Suterra expands biopesticide portfolio with Vestaron acquisition
Suterra has acquired Vestaron’s product lines, active ingredients and R&D pipeline. Learn more about the biological crop protection portfolio expansion.
Suterra has acquired Vestaron’s product lines, active ingredients and R&D pipeline in a move that strengthens its position in biological crop protection, according to a Suterra press release. The deal includes Vestaron’s SPEAR and BASIN product lines, both recently approved by the EPA for use in the U.S., along with assets from the company’s Kalamazoo, Mich., R&D facility.

According to Suterra president Matthew Bohnert, the company plans to begin manufacturing its own branded SPEAR LEP product later this year. The peptide-based insecticides are designed to help growers manage pest resistance while supporting sustainable agriculture practices.
Vestaron is known for its peptide-based bioinsecticides derived from naturally occurring proteins, offering growers new modes of action and alternatives to conventional synthetic chemistries.
The acquisition expands Suterra’s biologically based crop protection portfolio as demand continues to grow for sustainable pest management solutions.
