UCCE Northern San Joaquin Valley offers CropManage Hands-on Workshop

University of California Cooperative Extension-Stanislaus County (UCCE) UCCE Northern San Joaquin Valley will host CropManage Hands-on Workshop that will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. on March 14.

CropManage is a free online decision-support tool for water and nutrient management of tree, vegetables, berry and agronomic crops.

CropManage“Based on in-depth research and field studies conducted by the University of California Cooperative Extension, CropManage provides real-time recommendations for efficient and timely irrigation and fertilization applications while maintaining or improving overall yield,” UCCE noted in the email that announced the workshop.

Workshop details

This workshop will instruct participants on how to use CropManage to support irrigation and nutrient management decisions and record-keeping for crops. Additionally, attendees will learn about the latest updates to CropManage.

“At this free workshop, we will provide hands-on training so that you can learn to use the newest version of CropManage. Crops currently supported include many vegetables (carrots, broccoli, lettuce, tomato, spinach, etc.), berry crops (raspberry and strawberry), tree crops (almond, walnut, and pistachio) and agronomic crops (alfalfa and corn),” UCCE shared in its email and also noted that CropManage is available in Spanish.

This workshop is for current and new users and is well-suited for growers, farm managers, farm staff, crop advisors, consultants and other technical service providers.

Participants are asked to bring a tablet or computer in order to work on the hands-on exercises, and also to sign up for a free user account at cropmanage.ucanr.edu prior to attending the event.

The workshop will be held at the University of California Cooperative Extension-Stanislaus County, Harvest Hall, Room E at 3800 Cornucopia Way in Modesto, California.
