Proposed changes include removal of ambiguous and obsolete language and of irrelevant dates, and clarification of requirements, provisions and terms in the regulations to better reflect industry practices.
Originally published in the Federal Register on February 22, 2022, the proposed marketing order changes include the removal of ambiguous and obsolete language, removal of irrelevant dates, and clarification of requirements, provisions, and terms in the regulations to better reflect industry practices and the orderly marketing of California almonds.
In addition, proposed changes include requirements for custom processors to submit an annual application to the board. The proposed changes were previously recommended and unanimously approved by Almond Board of California board of directors at meetings held on December 7, 2020, and June 17, 2021.
