USDA seeks nominees for Almond Board of California

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is accepting nominations for seats on the Almond Board of California, which oversees marketing regulations, research, and promotional programs for the state’s almond industry.

Candidate declarations must be submitted by April 1, 2025, with voting scheduled to take place from April 21 through May 22, 2025. The newly elected members will begin their terms on Aug. 1, 2025.

The board is seeking nominees for multiple positions, including:

  • Two independent grower seats and their alternates
  • Two independent handler seats and one alternate
  • Two cooperative handler seats and their alternates

One grower member and alternate grower seat, as well as all independent handler seats, will serve a one-year term. All other member and alternate member seats will be for three-year terms.

Nominees must be growers or employees of growers, or handlers and employees of handlers. The current board consists of 10 members — five grower representatives and five handler representatives — each with an alternate.

For nomination information, contact Toni Arellano, Almond Board of California Senior Coordinator of Marketing Order Services, at abcbodelections@almondboard.com or contact USDA marketing specialist Jeremy Sasselli at 559-487-5901 or Jeremy.Sasselli@usda.gov.
