The VINE, an initiative of University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR), will host the VINE Connect: 2024 Automated Technology Field Day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, at Hartnell East Campus, 1752 East Alisal Road, Salinas. The event will feature live demonstrations of cutting-edge automated agricultural equipment aimed at improving efficiency and productivity in farming.
The event, organized in collaboration with the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Monterey County and the USDA Agricultural Research Service Salinas, will spotlight the latest advancements in precision weeding and other automated farming operations.
Key speakers include UC ANR Chief Innovation Officer Gabe Youtsey, UCCE vegetable weed control specialist Steve Fennimore, and UCCE agricultural technology area advisor Paramveer Singh. Representatives from leading tech companies will also attend.
The event begins with a welcome reception at 8:30 a.m., followed by live demonstrations showcasing innovations from companies like Burro, Carbon Robotics, Ecorobotix, Farm-ng and Verdant Robotics.
