Georgia pecan farmer takes chance on sprayer, cuts usage by nearly half
Tim Sikes of Georgia became the first pecan grower in the state to try the sprayer tech. He went from 11 tanks to six.
Tim Sikes is a Georgia pecan grower who, like most farmers, was exhausted by the costs of inputs. After seeing a video about Smart Apply, he took a chance on the spray tech, becoming the first pecan grower in Georgia to give it a try.

And, again like most farmers, he was skeptical, but driven by the possibility of both saving and/or making more money. It’s a reality with which most growers are faced in a farming environment where costs have skyrocketed, but prices to growers have remained stagnant or decreased.
His investment paid off. He went from his usual 11 tanks to six, which resulted in a significant cost savings and boost to the bottom line, and will have his Smart Apply paying for itself sooner than he anticipated.
